Vargas Ascending is being split up into two novels: Vargas Ascending and Razed Grounds.
Vargas Rising is now titled Vargas Ascending for creative reason, and no other reasons. Once the trilogy is finished, all will be clear.
I was able to write well more than 50,000 words for NanoWriMo for the novel Vargas Rising in less than 31 days
This is the novel announcement is for Vargas Rising, a science fantasy genre-bending story set in the legendary Ralthan universe. Vargas Rising has several converging plot lines leading to an epic climax dealing with the evil of a megalomaniacal genius pushed too far.
The second draft of Sentry is available for downloading and reading.
I didn't like it when I created the concept of a 'newer, gentler reich.' There were a few concepts I did like and wanted to incorporate and identify with, but there were too many negative connotations along with 'Reich.' The whole Space Nazi trope is far too clichéd.
I imagine that the trick of a successful world-building is immersion. The believability of a world is showing not telling, just as it is for a good story-and in order for me to do that immersion is key. I'm going to be writing then publishing quite a few handfuls of short stories which will all be canon in the Raltha universe while taking mental breaks from the harrowing experience of editing Sentry. I'll be releasing SVG Atlases, and more detailed Location Descriptions "soon" as well.
Astounding. I'm sure that the Internet is ablaze with the release of Unreal Engine 4 for free to the world. It's also common knowledge that the only payment (other than their cut on the assets store I'm sure) is 5% of revenue one makes from one's paid-for game. All free games are royalty free. That's just the tip of the iceberg of this wonderful gift to the electronic world.
After quite a bit of contemplating, I've decided to scrap the Introduction chapter to Sentry during my editing. That's just under 1200 words of setting backstory removed.
Although primitive compared to many nations (they're very early 20th century technologically), their knowledge and stubborn control of magic that makes it a thriving culture in a violent world.
"Book 1" (the name of the entire book still escapes me while each chapter title has been spot on). Is sitting near 20K words and the story and mainline characters are just starting to warm up. You'll see references to Pankeen and Hal Irving and others on this site when they're barely mentioned in Sentry.
've printed Sentry for a 3 ring binder for my first round of hard editing!
This is the new website for Jeffrey Gordon's fictional universe set in a far away world in the future named Raltha. New content will be added very soon, but the introduction to the world has been added.
