Dr. Edmund Vargas is a genius nanotech and genetic researcher who has also mastered the Latharian and Thralan arts of arcanic alchemy and is very well versed in Hartal lore. His hybrid experiments led to great advancements for zombie and werewolf control for his mistress,the vampire Lady Kalifax. Years of service and abuse to made him finally snap after one of his greatest achievements: the modification of her favorite servant into the perfect Lathar assassin. His achievement was appreciated, but he was not given his freedom that he was promised so many times.
